BSB: Cadwell Park Preview

As the teams and riders head towards Cadwell Park for round 8 of the British Superbike Championship, it possesses all the foundations to be a cracker.

We have Shane Byrne sits pretty at the top of the championship, an out of sorts Leon Haslam who needs to make up some podium credits before he arrives at Oulton Park in September. Haslam is still recovering to find his MOJO again following along from his Knockhill crash.

His teammate will be missing this weekend after his brutal crash at Thruxton in the last round. And could easily find his showdown position less certain come Sunday evening.

This is a huge round for Josh Brookes whose last visit to the Lincolnshire circuit provided him with 50 points on the Milwaukee Yamaha in 2015. Brookes has done wonders this season turning a 2016 also ran bike into a race winning title contending machine. But needs to build on podium credits.

Peter Hickman is highly impressive at the moment his form is exceptional on road and circuit. His value is rising by the meeting, so will hopefully be able to afford a snapback in 2018 that keeps its figure and fits. I genuinely do hope he is a contender going into the final rounds.

Jason O’Halloran who I have invariably been a fan of needs to find some consistency, but I think he is still struggling a lot with the Honda and hopefully Honda come with a decent bike in 2018 which will allow Jason to push on.

Jake Dixon again another rider who needs to find consistency if he is to push for those final podium showdown places. I only hope his eye is not taken off the ball by him wildcarding in moto2 at Silverstone.

Christian Iddon? I am undecided one race he's fast the next he's missing in action. I will ignore him some slack as he has been injured, but if he was fit enough to compete at Suzuka then he's fit enough to perform at BSB.

James Ellison another disaster of a season for him, he actually needs to perform on a track he's not had the best results at. Simply going on current form the showdown is beyond him.

So 5 races to go before the Showdown cut off, no one can relax this weekend.

Will Shakey be stopped?
I believe the top 3 will be battled out between
