THE ASPAR Team have announced they will continue into the 2018 season with Karel Abraham.
Abraham will begin his second season with the Spanish team after numerous top ten finishes, front row starts and appearances in Q2.
The Czech rider will also be in the position to develop the Ducati GP15 further after already racing the machine to Abraham's career best result of seventh in Assen.
Aspar's General Manager Jorge Martínez explained: 'For the Aspar Team it is a source of satisfaction to renew with Karel Abraham. When we signed him last year we felt he could do a good job but the results he have achieved have been a very positive surprise.
'He has done much better than we expected, right from pre season, and as the races have gone by he has continued to improve and achieve great results.
'We think we can continue to improve with him in the future. It is a simple choice, he is happy with the team and we are happy with him, so we are going to continue in the same way and chase even bigger goals.'
Abraham's main focus still remains on the rest of the season, but appears to be ready for the next challenge with the Aspar Team.
Having been criticised throughout his MotoGP career as to whether he has what it takes to be in the premier class, with some extra development and prior knowledge of the GP15 already there's every possibility Abraham could equal his career best or better if his focus remains with the Aspar Team.
